The Miami Dolphins secured a 34-24 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2 of the 2026 season, improving their record and establishing an early claim in the competitive conference landscape. This matchup was crucial for both teams as they aimed to gain momentum early in the season. Bo Nix of the 49ers showcased his passing prowess, throwing for 256 yards and three touchdowns, demonstrating his ability to lead the offense effectively. However, it was Aaron Jones Sr. of the Dolphins who made a significant impact on the ground with 83 rushing yards, complementing Miami’s balanced attack. Meanwhile, DeMario Douglas emerged as a key target for San Francisco, racking up 83 receiving yards. Defensively, Jared Verse was a standout for Miami, recording 1.5 sacks that disrupted the 49ers' rhythm and played a pivotal role in the game's outcome. The turning point came in the fourth quarter when the Dolphins' defense tightened, limiting San Francisco's options and allowing Miami to hold on to their lead. Azeez Al-Shaair led the charge for the 49ers with seven total tackles, but it wasn't enough to prevent Miami from sealing the win.
