In a commanding start to the 2026 season, the Miami Dolphins defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 35-14. The game was significant as both teams aimed to establish momentum early in the year, but the Dolphins showcased their dominance from the outset. Miami's offense was led by quarterback Cam Ward, who threw for two touchdowns and effectively directed the team's efforts. Although Jaxson Dart of the Raiders put up respectable numbers with 192 passing yards, it was Jahmyr Gibbs' 65 rushing yards and Jayden Reed's 78 receiving yards that were not enough to keep pace with Miami's scoring onslaught. Defensively, the Dolphins were relentless, with Minkah Fitzpatrick making his presence felt with four tackles and an interception, while T.J. Watt recorded two sacks to disrupt the Raiders' rhythm. The game's turning point came in the second quarter when Fitzpatrick's interception set up a quick touchdown drive, allowing Miami to pull away and secure their victory.
