In a thrilling season opener, the Cleveland Browns defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 34-20, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting 2026 campaign. The Browns showcased their prowess on both sides of the ball, while the Jaguars fought valiantly but ultimately fell short in their home opener. Cleveland's offense was led by a stellar performance from Omarion Hampton, who rushed for 146 yards, effectively controlling the ground game. Meanwhile, quarterback Jayden Daniels of the Jaguars put up impressive numbers, throwing for 358 yards and two touchdowns, but it was Quentin Johnston's 123 receiving yards that helped the Browns maintain their offensive momentum and secure the victory. Defensively, the Browns made their presence felt, with Nick Herbig recording two key sacks that disrupted the Jaguars' passing attack. The game's turning point came late in the third quarter when DaRon Bland intercepted a pass, halting a potential comeback and allowing Cleveland to extend their lead. Despite Kelee Ringo's nine tackles for Jacksonville, the Browns’ defense ultimately proved too strong, allowing them to hold off the Jaguars and claim the win.
