In a commanding performance, the Detroit Lions topped the Arizona Cardinals 44-23 in Week 5 of the 2026 season, solidifying their position in the playoff race. With both teams looking to gain momentum, the Lions showcased their offensive firepower and defensive prowess to secure the victory. Quarterback Gardner Minshew II led the Cardinals, throwing for 235 yards and two touchdowns, but it was Isiah Pacheco of the Lions who stood out on the ground, racking up 66 rushing yards to help establish Detroit's dominance. Meanwhile, Marvin Harrison Jr. was the top receiver for Arizona, accumulating 95 receiving yards, yet the Lions' offensive balance proved too much for the Cardinals to overcome. Defensively, the Lions made a significant impact with Brian Branch's two interceptions, which shifted the momentum in favor of Detroit. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Branch picked off Minshew's pass, setting up a quick touchdown that widened the gap. The Cardinals struggled to recover from that blow, as the Lions continued to capitalize on their mistakes, ultimately sealing the game with a strong defensive effort.
