In a tightly contested matchup, the Indianapolis Colts topped the Washington Commanders 27-20 in Week 4 of the 2026 season. With both teams seeking a crucial victory to bolster their playoff hopes, the Colts emerged victorious, showcasing their offensive firepower. Leading the charge for the Colts was quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr., who threw for 289 yards and three touchdowns, cementing his status as a key playmaker. His favorite target, Deion Burks, delivered a standout performance with 126 receiving yards, consistently moving the chains and finding space in the Commanders' secondary. Meanwhile, Washington's Jacory Croskey-Merritt contributed as the leading rusher with 60 yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Colts' aerial attack. Defensively, the game was marked by the challenges Washington faced in containing Indianapolis' offense. Although Odafe Oweh recorded six total tackles, the Commanders struggled to apply pressure on Richardson, allowing him to execute his game plan effectively. The turning point came in the second half when Richardson threw a critical touchdown pass that shifted momentum firmly in the Colts' favor, enabling them to hold off a late rally from Washington.
