The Houston Texans secured a decisive 36-23 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 9 of the 2026 season, solidifying their position in the playoff race. With both teams vying for crucial conference standings, the Texans emerged victorious, showcasing their offensive and defensive prowess. Justin Herbert led the Chargers with an impressive 248 passing yards and two touchdown passes, but it was the Texans' Tank Dell who stole the spotlight with a stellar 97 receiving yards. The Texans' offense was efficient and relentless, consistently moving the ball and finding ways to score, which ultimately proved too much for the Chargers to handle. Defensively, the Texans made their mark with Kamari Lassiter recording nine total tackles and two crucial interceptions, while Danielle Hunter added pressure with two sacks. The game's turning point came in the second half when Lassiter's second interception shifted momentum squarely in favor of the Texans, stifling the Chargers' attempts to rally back and sealing the win.
