In a hard-fought battle, the Houston Texans emerged victorious, defeating the New York Giants 14-7 in Week 7 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications hanging in the balance, this win solidifies Houston’s position as a contender in the chase for postseason glory. Offensively, it was Rico Dowdle who shined for the Texans, racking up 54 rushing yards and providing a steady ground game. Jaxson Dart of the Giants led the passing attack with 119 yards, but his efforts were limited as he struggled to find the end zone. Calvin Austin was the standout receiver for New York, contributing 54 yards but unable to capitalize on scoring opportunities. Defensively, the game turned on a crucial interception by Kamari Lassiter of the Texans, which stifled a potential Giants scoring drive and swung momentum in Houston's favor. The Texans' ability to contain New York's offense was evident, with Greg Newsome II leading the way with five total tackles. Brian Burns added pressure with two sacks, but it was the Texans’ defensive playmaking that ultimately sealed the game.
