In a commanding performance, the New England Patriots topped the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-7 in Week 2 of the 2026 season. This victory not only boosts the Patriots’ early-season momentum but also puts them on track as serious contenders in the AFC. Drake Maye was the star of the game for New England, throwing for an impressive 303 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. Meanwhile, TreVeyon Henderson contributed a solid 61 rushing yards, providing balance to the Patriots' attack. Despite the loss, DK Metcalf shined for Pittsburgh with 117 receiving yards, but it wasn’t enough to overcome New England’s offensive firepower. Defensively, the game was marked by key contributions from both sides, but it was the Patriots' defensive stand that proved pivotal. Carlton Davis III snagged an interception, stifling a potential scoring drive from the Steelers. Additionally, T.J. Watt delivered two sacks for Pittsburgh, but the Patriots' ability to disrupt plays and control the clock ultimately sealed the game.
