In a commanding display, the Philadelphia Eagles overwhelmed the Washington Commanders with a final score of 63-0 in Week 1 of the 2026 season. This matchup set the tone for the Eagles' campaign, showcasing their offensive firepower and defensive prowess right out of the gate. Jalen Hurts was the standout performer for Philadelphia, throwing for 236 yards and three touchdowns, effectively leading the charge. Saquon Barkley complemented his efforts with a staggering 214 rushing yards, while DeVonta Smith was a reliable target, racking up 137 receiving yards. The Eagles' offense was relentless, capitalizing on every opportunity and maintaining control throughout the game. Defensively, the Eagles were equally impressive, with Jonathan Greenard recording two sacks and Kelee Ringo grabbing an interception. The turning point came early when Ringo's pick stifled a potential drive from the Commanders, allowing the Eagles to extend their lead and demoralize their opponents. Washington struggled to find any rhythm, thanks in large part to the relentless pressure and playmaking ability of Philadelphia's defense, sealing a dominant victory.
