In a decisive Week 18 matchup, the Albuquerque Armadillos topped the New York Jets with a commanding final score of 40-12. With playoff positioning on the line, Albuquerque’s dominant performance secured their ticket to the postseason, leaving the Jets to reflect on a disappointing season. Josh Allen led the charge for the Armadillos, throwing for an impressive 362 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his elite passing ability throughout the game. Khalil Shakir was his top target, racking up 169 receiving yards and making critical catches that kept drives alive. On the ground, Breece Hall of the Jets put forth a strong effort with 94 rushing yards, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with Albuquerque’s high-octane offense. Defensively, the Armadillos made their presence felt, highlighted by Terrel Bernard’s eight total tackles and Bradley Chubb’s two sacks, which disrupted the Jets' rhythm. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Maxwell Hairston snagged an interception, halting a potential Jets scoring drive and allowing Albuquerque to extend their lead just before halftime. That momentum shift proved pivotal, as the Armadillos never looked back, efficiently controlling the game to secure a spot in the playoffs.
