In a thrilling Week 16 showdown, the Washington Commanders narrowly defeated the Minnesota Vikings by a score of 45-44, keeping their playoff hopes alive. Both teams entered the game with high stakes, but it was the Commanders who emerged victorious in this nail-biter, showcasing their offensive firepower. Leading the charge for Washington was quarterback Jayden Daniels, who threw for 289 yards and four touchdowns, displaying precision and poise throughout the match. Running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt complemented the aerial assault with a stellar performance on the ground, racking up 127 rushing yards. On the other side, Justin Jefferson of the Vikings shone brightly, amassing 137 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. Defensively, the game turned on a few key moments, particularly Jer'Zhan Newton's sack that disrupted Minnesota's rhythm in the second half. While the Vikings' Josh Metellus led the team with five tackles and James Pierre made a crucial interception, it was Washington's ability to clamp down when it mattered most that made the difference. The Commanders' defense stepped up at pivotal moments, ultimately securing the win in this high-scoring affair.
