In a tightly contested opener for the 2027 season, the Indianapolis Colts narrowly defeated the Baltimore Ravens by a score of 7-6. Both teams came into this matchup looking to establish their footing early in the season, but it was the Colts who emerged victorious in a battle of defenses. Jonathan Taylor led the Colts' offense with a solid performance, racking up 60 rushing yards and providing a much-needed spark on the ground. For the Ravens, Lamar Jackson managed to throw for 70 yards but struggled to find the end zone, while Derrick Henry contributed with 25 receiving yards. The lack of offensive firepower on both sides made for a tense matchup that hinged on defensive plays. The Colts' defense proved to be the difference-maker, with A.J. Haulcy leading the charge with three total tackles and Adetomiwa Adebawore adding a crucial sack. The game's turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Colts' defense stifled a potential game-winning drive by Jackson, forcing a turnover on downs. Ultimately, the Colts held off the Ravens, clinching a hard-fought victory to kick off their season.
