In an exciting season opener, the Seattle Seahawks topped the Arizona Cardinals with a final score of 31-23. Both teams were looking to set a strong tone for the 2027 season, but it was Seattle that emerged victorious in this tightly contested matchup. Drew Mestemaker led the charge for the Seahawks, throwing for 239 yards and connecting for one touchdown. Meanwhile, D'Andre Swift showcased his prowess on the ground with 95 rushing yards, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba was a reliable target, racking up 109 receiving yards. Seattle’s offense was efficient, consistently moving the chains and putting points on the board. Defensively, Uchenna Nwosu was a standout for Seattle, recording 1.5 sacks to disrupt Arizona's rhythm. The game's turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Seattle's defense stifled a potential game-tying drive, forcing a crucial turnover on downs. With Zaven Collins leading the Cardinals' defense with nine tackles, they fought hard, but it wasn't enough to change the outcome as the Seahawks held firm for the win.
