With both teams looking to establish themselves early in the campaign, this matchup proved crucial for momentum as the Commanders showcased their offensive prowess. Dak Prescott led the Cowboys with a solid performance, throwing for 249 yards and two touchdowns, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Commanders' offensive firepower. Malachi Coleman emerged as a standout, racking up 122 receiving yards, while Jayden Daniels contributed with 32 rushing yards. Defensively, the Commanders made their mark, with Odafe Oweh recording two sacks and Quan Martin snagging two interceptions, crucial plays that shifted the tide in Washington's favor. The turning point came in the second half when Martin's second interception halted a promising Cowboys drive, allowing the Commanders to extend their lead and ultimately secure the win. The defensive unit demonstrated tenacity, proving vital in sealing the victory and sending a message to the league.
