In a decisive Week 1 matchup of the 2027 season, the Carolina Panthers topped the Atlanta Falcons with a final score of 36 to 17. The victory sets a strong tone for the Panthers as they aim to build off last season's momentum and establish themselves early in the race for the playoffs. Bryce Young led the charge for Carolina, throwing for 305 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his growth as a quarterback. He connected with Jalen Coker, who shined with 132 receiving yards, proving to be a reliable target. Chuba Hubbard also contributed significantly on the ground, racking up 92 rushing yards to keep the Falcons' defense on its heels. The Panthers' defense played a critical role in this win, effectively stifling the Falcons' offensive efforts. The turning point came in the second quarter when Carolina's defense forced a key turnover, allowing Young and the offense to capitalize and extend their lead. Despite Avieon Terrell's eight tackles and Divine Deablo's one sack for Atlanta, they couldn't contain the Panthers' dynamic offensive display.
