In a decisive Week 18 matchup, the Arizona Cardinals triumphed over the Tokyo 49ers with a final score of 37-5, securing their playoff positioning as the regular season draws to a close. The Cardinals' victory not only showcased their dominance but also highlighted the struggles of the 49ers, who failed to find their rhythm offensively. Carson Beck was the star of the night for Arizona, throwing for 289 yards and four touchdowns, leading a potent aerial attack. Kendrick Bourne was his top target, racking up 94 receiving yards, while the Cardinals' ground game kept the chains moving effectively. In contrast, Christian McCaffrey led the 49ers with 76 rushing yards, but it was not enough to spark a comeback. Defensively, the Cardinals imposed their will, with Josh Sweat recording two sacks and Budda Baker adding an interception to the mix. The turning point came early in the second half when Baker's pick set up a quick touchdown, allowing Arizona to extend their lead and effectively put the game out of reach. The 49ers' defense struggled to contain the Cardinals' offense, leaving them in a hole they could not climb out of.
