In a tightly contested battle, the Houston Texans narrowly defeated the Buffalo Bills 13-10 in Week 1 of the 2026 season. Both teams came into this matchup looking to establish an early foothold in the season, but it was the Texans who emerged victorious in a game defined by defensive prowess. Josh Allen led the Bills with a solid performance, throwing for 209 yards and one touchdown, showcasing his ability to move the ball through the air. However, it was the Texans' David Montgomery who made a crucial impact on the ground with 49 rushing yards, while Tank Dell impressed with 84 receiving yards, providing key plays that kept the Texans’ offense ticking throughout the game. Defensively, the Texans set the tone early with Sheldon Rankins recording a key sack that disrupted Buffalo's rhythm. Terrel Bernard stood out for the Bills with nine tackles, but it was Houston's relentless defense that ultimately secured the win. The turning point of the game came late in the fourth quarter when the Texans' defense held strong, preventing the Bills from capitalizing on a late-game drive, sealing the victory for Houston.
