In a tightly contested matchup, the Houston Texans narrowly defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 15-13 in Week 3 of the 2028 season. Both teams entered the game looking for a crucial win to bolster their early-season standings, but it was the Texans who managed to hold off the Jaguars in a dramatic finish. Julian Sayin led the Texans' offense with an impressive 292 passing yards, showcasing his ability to command the field. Velus Jones Jr. added to the offensive effort with a solid 66 rushing yards, while Nico Collins emerged as a key target, racking up 111 receiving yards. Trevor Lawrence contributed for the Jaguars with one touchdown pass, but it wasn't enough to secure the victory. Defensively, the Jaguars showed flashes of brilliance, with Jalen Huskey leading the charge with 10 total tackles and Travon Walker recording two sacks. However, the turning point came when the Texans' defense stepped up in the final moments, preventing a late-game drive by Jacksonville that could have swung the outcome. Foyesade Oluokun’s interception provided a brief spark for the Jaguars, but Houston ultimately held firm to seal the win.
