In a thrilling season opener, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers narrowly defeated the Cincinnati Bengals, finishing with a final score of 35-28. Both teams aimed to set the tone for the 2026 season, but it was the Buccaneers who emerged victorious in this tightly contested battle. Baker Mayfield led the Buccaneers' offense with precision, tossing two touchdown passes while Joe Burrow of the Bengals put up impressive stats, throwing for 250 yards. On the ground, Bucky Irving made his mark with 89 rushing yards, helping Tampa Bay maintain a balanced attack. Meanwhile, Devin Culp was the standout receiver for Cincinnati, racking up 93 receiving yards and keeping his team competitive. Defensively, the game turned on a dime when Calijah Kancey recorded two crucial sacks, putting pressure on Burrow and disrupting the Bengals' rhythm. Demetrius Knight Jr. shone for Cincinnati with seven total tackles, but it was Kancey's effort that shifted momentum in favor of the Buccaneers. As the game progressed, Tampa Bay's defense proved to be just enough to hold off a late rally from Cincinnati, securing the win and starting their season on a high note.
