The Green Bay Packers topped the Detroit Lions 35-22 in a pivotal Week 18 matchup that secured their playoff positioning. With both teams vying for a favorable seed, the stakes were high, but the Packers' offense proved too much for the Lions to handle. Tyrod Taylor was the standout performer for Green Bay, throwing for 284 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his ability to deliver in crucial moments. Kaleb Johnson also made a significant impact with 81 receiving yards, while Jahmyr Gibbs led the Lions on the ground with 99 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with the explosive Packers' attack. Defensively, the Packers made key plays to stifle the Lions' comeback efforts. Edgerrin Cooper recorded a sack, applying pressure on the Lions' quarterback, while Evan Williams intercepted a pass, changing the momentum of the game. The turning point came late in the third quarter when the Packers scored to extend their lead, leaving the Lions with little hope of a comeback.
