In a thrilling Week 17 matchup, the Tennessee Titans topped the Pittsburgh Steelers 29-22, securing a crucial victory as the regular season winds down. With playoff positions on the line, both teams came into this game with high stakes, but it was the Titans who emerged victorious on their home turf. Drew Allar led the Steelers’ offense with an impressive performance, throwing for 310 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Tony Pollard fueled the Titans' ground game with 83 rushing yards, while DK Metcalf shined for Pittsburgh, racking up 196 receiving yards. Despite the offensive fireworks, it was Tennessee's ability to control the game that made the difference. Defensively, the Steelers showcased their prowess, particularly with Joey Porter leading the team with four total tackles and Payton Wilson coming up with two key interceptions. However, the turning point of the game came late in the fourth quarter when the Titans' defense held firm, stalling a critical Steelers drive and preserving their narrow lead. This victory not only boosts Tennessee's playoff hopes but also sends a strong message as they head into the postseason.
