In a thrilling season opener, the Dallas Cowboys topped the Washington Commanders 35-21, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting 2027 campaign. Both teams entered the game looking to establish early dominance, but it was the Cowboys who emerged victorious in this Week 1 clash. Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott led the charge with 201 passing yards, but it was tight end Jake Ferguson who truly stole the spotlight, racking up 129 receiving yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Commanders quarterback Justin Fields showcased his dual-threat ability, throwing for a touchdown and rushing for an impressive 130 yards, making him a constant threat throughout the game. Defensively, the Commanders struggled to contain the Cowboys' offensive rhythm, despite some standout plays from their own unit. Odafe Oweh made a significant impact with two sacks, while Sonny Styles added an interception to his tally. However, the turning point came in the second quarter when Dallas scored back-to-back touchdowns, pulling ahead and forcing Washington to play catch-up for the remainder of the game.
