In a tightly contested matchup, the Jacksonville Jaguars emerged victorious over the Miami Dolphins with a final score of 17-9. This Week 3 clash was crucial for both teams as they sought to establish momentum early in the 2027 season. The Jaguars' balanced offensive attack proved to be the difference-maker on their home turf. Trevor Lawrence led the charge for Jacksonville, throwing for a touchdown and adding 53 rushing yards to his impressive performance. Malik Willis of the Dolphins showcased his arm with 217 passing yards and connected with Malik Washington, who tallied 82 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Jaguars' efficiency. The Dolphins struggled to finish drives, ultimately resulting in a disappointing outing despite Willis's aerial efforts. Defensively, the Jaguars set the tone with a standout performance from Antonio Johnson, who recorded a staggering 17 total tackles. The turning point came late in the game when Jourdan Lewis intercepted two passes, effectively stifling any chance of a Miami comeback. The Jaguars' defense proved to be a formidable wall that the Dolphins couldn't breach, sealing the victory and giving Jacksonville an early edge in the season standings.
