In a decisive Week 4 matchup, the Washington Commanders defeated the Indianapolis Colts 27-10, improving their record and solidifying their position in the playoff race. The Commanders' victory was crucial as they look to build momentum heading into the latter part of the season. Baker Mayfield led the way for Washington, throwing for two touchdowns and efficiently managing the game, while also showcasing a balanced offensive attack. On the other side, Anthony Richardson Jr. displayed his arm strength with 335 passing yards, but the Colts struggled to convert those yards into points, with Jonathan Taylor leading the ground game with just 41 rushing yards. Defensively, the Commanders made key plays that shifted the game's momentum, highlighted by Sonny Styles' 1.5 sacks and Trey Amos' interception. Washington's defense disrupted the Colts' rhythm, consistently applying pressure and making it difficult for Indianapolis to find any offensive flow. The turning point came in the second half when Amos picked off Richardson, setting up a touchdown that extended the Commanders' lead and put them in control for the remainder of the game.
