In a decisive Week 17 matchup, the Washington Commanders topped the Jacksonville Jaguars with a commanding 38-14 victory, solidifying their place in the playoff picture. With the stakes high for both teams, the Commanders showcased their dominance on both sides of the ball, ultimately outlasting the Jaguars in a must-win game. Trevor Lawrence led the Jaguars on offense with 221 passing yards and one touchdown, but it was Kaytron Allen's ground game for the Commanders that proved pivotal, as he rushed for 51 yards. The Commanders' passing attack was also effective, contributing to their substantial lead, while Brian Thomas Jr. made a notable impact for the Jaguars with 74 receiving yards. Defensively, the Commanders were relentless, with Jer'Zhan Newton recording 1.5 sacks and Mike Sainristil snagging an interception to halt any momentum the Jaguars attempted to build. The turning point came in the second half when Sainristil's interception led to a quick touchdown for Washington, pushing their lead to an insurmountable margin and sealing the game.
