In a commanding display to kick off the 2027 season, the Carolina Panthers topped the New York Giants with a final score of 49-17. The victory not only sets a strong tone for the Panthers' campaign but also highlights their offensive firepower right out of the gate. Leading the charge for Carolina was quarterback Bryce Young, who put on a masterclass performance, throwing for 421 yards and six touchdowns. Jalen Coker was his favorite target, racking up 132 receiving yards, while Chuba Hubbard contributed on the ground, despite a modest 29 rushing yards. The Panthers’ offense was relentless, showcasing a balanced attack that left the Giants struggling to keep pace. Defensively, the Panthers made their presence felt, with Will Lee III snagging two crucial interceptions that disrupted the Giants' rhythm. The turning point came early in the second quarter when Lee's first interception led to a quick touchdown drive, extending the Panthers' lead and shifting the momentum firmly in their favor. While Brian Burns of the Giants managed a sack, it wasn’t enough to stem the tide as Carolina's defense held strong, complementing their explosive offense throughout the game.
