In a commanding display, the Seattle Seahawks topped the Pittsburgh Steelers 49-14 in their Week 1 matchup of the 2027 season. With both teams eager to set the tone for the year, Seattle's explosive offense quickly established dominance, leaving Pittsburgh scrambling for answers. Quarterback Jalen Milroe shone for the Seahawks, throwing for three touchdowns and leading his team to a decisive offensive performance. Running back Steven Hillman was a key contributor as well, racking up 99 rushing yards to keep the chains moving, while wide receiver DK Metcalf made an impact for the Steelers with 111 receiving yards. Despite the loss, Drew Allar showcased his potential with 294 passing yards, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with Seattle's relentless attack. Defensively, the Seahawks were relentless, highlighted by Nick Emmanwori's two interceptions that stymied Pittsburgh's offensive momentum at crucial moments. Darren Newell led the charge with six total tackles, but it was the Seahawks’ ability to capitalize on turnovers that proved pivotal. The turning point came midway through the second quarter when Emmanwori's first interception set up a quick touchdown, shifting the game's momentum firmly in Seattle's favor.
