In a thrilling showdown, the Detroit Lions topped the Chicago Bears 45-36 in Week 12 of the 2026 season, solidifying their playoff aspirations with this crucial victory. The Lions showcased their offensive firepower, while the Bears fought valiantly but ultimately fell short in a game packed with high stakes. Jared Goff led the charge for Detroit, throwing for 313 yards and three touchdowns, effectively orchestrating the Lions' dynamic passing attack. Meanwhile, Jahmyr Gibbs was a dual threat, rushing for 100 yards and adding an impressive 177 receiving yards, making him a nightmare for the Bears' defense throughout the contest. The combination of Goff's precision and Gibbs' versatility proved to be too much for Chicago to handle. Defensively, the Lions made key plays to secure their win, with Aidan Hutchinson recording two crucial sacks that disrupted the Bears' rhythm. JuJu Brents also contributed with six total tackles, helping to contain Chicago's offense. The turning point came late in the game when Goff connected with Gibbs for a critical touchdown, sealing the deal and allowing the Lions to hold off a late Bears surge.
