The Denver Broncos held off the Jacksonville Jaguars with a final score of 31-23 in a thrilling Week 2 matchup of the 2026 season. The Broncos improved to 2-0, while the Jaguars faced their first loss of the season, making this game crucial for early playoff positioning. Trevor Lawrence was the standout for Jacksonville, throwing for 270 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to connect with his receivers under pressure. Brian Thomas Jr. was the primary target, racking up 94 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to secure a victory. RJ Harvey led the ground game for Denver, contributing 71 rushing yards to help maintain a balanced offensive attack. Defensively, the Broncos made significant plays, with Jonathon Cooper leading the charge with 1.5 sacks that disrupted Jacksonville's rhythm throughout the game. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Cooper’s sack on a critical third down forced a Jaguars punt, allowing Denver to maintain their lead and ultimately seal the victory. Foyesade Oluokun's seven tackles for Jacksonville showcased their defensive effort, but it wasn't sufficient to stop the Broncos' offensive momentum when it mattered most.
