In a commanding season opener, the Chicago Bears defeated the Carolina Panthers 27-7, showcasing their offensive prowess and solidifying a promising start to the 2026 campaign. With both teams aiming to set the tone for the year, the Bears quickly established dominance on the field. Caleb Williams was the standout for Chicago, throwing three touchdown passes and leading the offense with precision. The passing game was complemented by Rome Odunze, who contributed significantly with 54 receiving yards. Although Haynes King of the Panthers threw for 164 yards, he struggled to find the end zone, which was key to the Bears’ success. Defensively, Chicago made crucial plays that turned the tide in their favor. Grady Jarrett registered a sack, while Devin Bush secured an interception, halting any momentum the Panthers tried to build. The turning point came in the second quarter when the Bears' defense stifled a potential scoring drive for Carolina, allowing Chicago to extend their lead and maintain control for the remainder of the game.
