In a commanding performance, the Denver Broncos defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 41-22 in Week 1 of the 2026 season. This matchup marked a critical start for both teams, as they aimed to establish momentum early in the year. The Broncos showcased their offensive prowess, setting the tone for what could be a promising campaign. Bo Nix led the charge for Denver, throwing for 239 yards and demonstrating precision in the passing game. Meanwhile, J.K. Dobbins was a force on the ground, amassing 118 rushing yards and contributing significantly to the Broncos' offensive attack. Despite the Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes throwing for two touchdowns, it wasn't enough to match the firepower of Denver's two-pronged offensive assault. Defensively, the Broncos made their mark with Talanoa Hufanga's key interception, disrupting the Chiefs' rhythm at a pivotal moment in the game. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Denver's defense forced a turnover, allowing the offense to capitalize and extend their lead. Although Drue Tranquill led Kansas City with six tackles, it was the Broncos' defensive plays that ultimately sealed the victory.
