In a commanding performance to kick off the 2036 season, the Denver Broncos defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 35-7, showcasing their dominance from the outset. The Broncos aimed to set the tone early in the year, and they certainly accomplished that with a decisive victory on the road. Drake Maye led the Broncos' offensive charge, throwing for 219 yards and two touchdowns, demonstrating both precision and poise in the pocket. Jonathan Montague contributed on the ground with 69 rushing yards, helping to keep the Chiefs' defense off-balance. Despite the loss, Trey Ramirez stood out for Kansas City, racking up 104 receiving yards but unable to find the end zone. Defensively, the Broncos were relentless, highlighted by Kionte Autry's two interceptions that changed the game's momentum. Ben Bohannon added to the pressure with 1.5 sacks, disrupting the Chiefs’ offensive flow throughout the match. The turning point came early in the second quarter when Autry’s second pick set up another scoring drive for Denver, solidifying their grip on the game and leaving Kansas City in a deep hole they could not escape.
