In a dominating performance, the Las Vegas Raiders defeated the Detroit Lions 45-7 in Week 6 of the 2027 season. With this impressive win, the Raiders continue to solidify their playoff aspirations while the Lions struggle to find their footing. Quarterback Fernando Mendoza was the standout performer, throwing for 329 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Raiders' high-octane offense. Meanwhile, Malik Benson shined in the receiving game, racking up 109 yards and providing a reliable option for Mendoza throughout the contest. Jahmyr Gibbs was the lone bright spot for the Lions, posting 75 rushing yards but struggled to make a significant impact against the Raiders' defense. The Raiders' defense played a crucial role in the victory, consistently pressuring Lions' quarterback while creating turnovers. Maxx Crosby was a force, recording 1.5 sacks, while Taron Johnson added an interception that shifted momentum early in the game. The turning point came in the second quarter when the Raiders' defense stifled a Lions drive, allowing Las Vegas to extend their lead and never look back.
