The Green Bay Packers kicked off their 2026 season with a solid 28-17 victory over the Minnesota Vikings, setting the tone for their campaign ahead. Both teams were eager to prove their mettle, but it was the Packers who emerged victorious in this intense divisional matchup. Josh Jacobs was the standout performer for Green Bay, rushing for an impressive 100 yards and contributing significantly to the Packers' offensive rhythm. Kyler Murray of the Vikings kept pace with his two passing touchdowns and 165 passing yards, but it wasn't enough to secure a win. Christian Watson also made his mark, racking up 76 receiving yards, which helped keep the chains moving for the Packers. Defensively, the Packers made crucial plays that shifted the momentum of the game. Lukas Van Ness secured a key sack, while Xavier McKinney's interception proved to be a turning point, halting a potential Vikings scoring drive. The Minnesota defense, anchored by Harrison Smith’s four tackles, fought hard, but they couldn't contain the Packers' balanced offense when it mattered most.
