In an explosive season opener, the Chicago Bears topped the Carolina Panthers with a final score of 49-35, showcasing their offensive firepower and setting the tone for the 2026 season. This high-stakes matchup saw the Bears dominate early, establishing a lead that the Panthers struggled to overcome. Caleb Williams was the star of the show for Chicago, throwing for an impressive 387 yards and finding the end zone six times through the air. His connection with the receiving corps was evident, as they consistently moved the chains and capitalized on scoring opportunities. On the other side, Tyler Harrell shone for Carolina, racking up 146 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to match the Bears' relentless offensive pressure. Defensively, the Bears made critical plays that shifted momentum in their favor. Malik Muhammad II was a standout with two interceptions, effectively stalling the Panthers' drives and providing the Bears with prime field position. The turning point came when Muhammad's second pick set up a quick touchdown, extending Chicago's lead and leaving Carolina scrambling to catch up for the remainder of the game.
