In a decisive season opener, the Chicago Bears topped the Carolina Panthers 35-17, showcasing their offensive prowess and defensive resilience. With both teams eager to kick off the 2026 season on a high note, the Bears were able to establish dominance early and maintain control throughout the game. Joe Flacco put up impressive numbers for the Panthers, throwing for 302 yards and two touchdowns, but it was Ashton Jeanty who led the Bears' ground game with 73 rushing yards. Meanwhile, Tetairoa McMillan was a standout in the receiving corps for Carolina, racking up 138 yards, though it wasn't enough to secure a victory. Defensively, the Bears made their presence felt, with Skyler Thomas intercepting two of Flacco's passes, a critical factor in turning the tide of the game. Montez Sweat added a sack to disrupt the Panthers' rhythm, while Coby Bryant led the charge with four tackles. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Thomas's second interception allowed the Bears to extend their lead, setting the tone for a commanding win.
