In a hard-fought Week 12 matchup, the Washington Commanders topped the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 22-12, securing a crucial victory as the season approaches its final stretch. The win helps the Commanders strengthen their playoff aspirations while the 49ers will need to regroup to stay in contention. Brock Purdy led the 49ers offense, throwing for 217 yards and one touchdown, showcasing his ability to move the ball through the air despite the team's struggles. Christian McCaffrey added a solid ground game with 54 rushing yards, while Christian Kirk was the standout receiver, racking up 65 yards. However, the 49ers were unable to find the end zone consistently, ultimately hampering their scoring efforts. Defensively, the Commanders made key plays that shifted momentum in their favor. Sonny Styles was a standout performer, recording nine tackles and one sack, while Trey Amos contributed with a critical interception that halted a potential scoring drive for San Francisco. The turning point came in the second half when the Commanders' defense held the 49ers to a field goal, allowing Washington to maintain their lead and control the game's tempo.
