In a thrilling Week 14 matchup, the Washington Commanders topped the Houston Texans with a final score of 42-28, keeping their playoff hopes alive in the 2026 season. With both teams vying for critical positioning, the Commanders emerged victorious, showcasing a powerful offensive performance. Quarterback Jayden Daniels was the star of the night, throwing for four touchdown passes and leading the Commanders to victory. Running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt dominated on the ground, racking up an impressive 196 rushing yards, which helped establish a commanding lead. On the Texans’ side, Taylen Green managed to throw for 185 yards and found some success through the air, but it wasn’t enough to keep up with Washington’s firepower. Defensively, the Commanders made their presence felt with standout performances, particularly from Percy Butler, who recorded six total tackles and 1.5 sacks. The turning point came when Sonny Styles intercepted two passes, halting any momentum the Texans hoped to build and solidifying Washington’s grip on the game. The combination of defensive pressure and opportunistic turnovers proved decisive in the Commanders' victory.
