In a high-octane showdown, the Los Angeles Chargers defeated the Denver Broncos 72-50 in Week 5 of the 2026 season. This victory keeps the Chargers firmly in the playoff hunt, showcasing their explosive offensive capabilities against a struggling Broncos defense. Justin Herbert was the star of the day for Los Angeles, throwing a staggering eight touchdown passes to propel his team to victory. Keaton Mitchell complemented Herbert’s performance with a powerful ground game, racking up 161 rushing yards. For the Broncos, Bo Nix put up impressive numbers with 503 passing yards, while Courtland Sutton caught for 189 yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Chargers' offensive firepower. Defensively, the Chargers made significant contributions that shaped the outcome of the game. Daiyan Henley's dual role as a tackler and interceptor was pivotal, as he recorded two interceptions and five total tackles. Akheem Mesidor added pressure with two sacks, helping to disrupt the Broncos' rhythm, particularly at crucial moments that allowed the Chargers to pull away in the second half.
