In a thrilling Week 2 matchup of the 2026 season, the San Francisco 49ers secured a decisive victory over the Miami Dolphins, finishing with a final score of 63-49. With both teams eager to establish dominance early in the season, the stakes were high, and the 49ers delivered, showcasing their offensive prowess. Brock Purdy was the standout performer for San Francisco, throwing for an impressive 456 yards and seven touchdowns, effectively orchestrating the 49ers' high-octane offense. On the receiving end, Mike Evans shone brightly, racking up 213 receiving yards and contributing significantly to the offensive explosion. Despite the Dolphins' De'Von Achane's notable 179 rushing yards, it wasn't enough to match the firepower of Purdy and Evans. Defensively, Ashtyn Davis made his mark with six total tackles, including three sacks, disrupting Miami's rhythm and applying constant pressure on the quarterback. The turning point came midway through the third quarter when a crucial interception by Michael Taaffe of the Dolphins was overshadowed by San Francisco's relentless scoring drive, allowing them to pull away and ultimately seal the game. The 49ers' ability to capitalize on key moments proved vital in this high-scoring affair.
