In a thrilling season opener, the Seattle Seahawks outlasted the New England Patriots with a final score of 54-42. The high-stakes matchup set the tone for the 2026 season, showcasing the explosive potential of both offenses and the determination of each team to start strong. Jalen Milroe was the star of the night for Seattle, throwing for an impressive 413 yards and finding the end zone six times through the air. His standout performance was complemented by Tory Horton, who racked up 116 receiving yards, proving to be a reliable target throughout the game. On the ground, TreVeyon Henderson led the Patriots with 89 rushing yards, but it was Seattle's aerial assault that ultimately made the difference. Defensively, the Seahawks made crucial plays that shifted momentum, highlighted by Nick Emmanwori's two interceptions that stifled New England's drives. Although Gabe Jacas recorded two sacks for the Patriots, Seattle's defense was able to apply consistent pressure and make key stops when it mattered most. The turning point came late in the third quarter when Emmanwori's first pick set up a touchdown that extended Seattle's lead, sealing their victory in this high-scoring affair.
