In a thrilling Week 3 matchup, the Detroit Lions narrowly defeated the New York Jets with a final score of 36-33. The stakes were high as both teams sought to establish their dominance early in the 2026 season, and the Lions rose to the occasion on their home turf. Jared Goff led the charge for Detroit, throwing for an impressive 356 yards and keeping the offense firing on all cylinders. Cade Klubnik showcased his prowess for the Jets, tossing five touchdown passes, but it wasn't enough to secure a win. On the receiving end, Jameson Williams was a standout performer for Detroit, racking up 199 yards and putting significant pressure on the Jets' secondary. Defensively, Von Miller was a game-changer for the Lions, registering five total tackles and three sacks, which disrupted the Jets' rhythm throughout the contest. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Miller's pressure led to a critical turnover, allowing Detroit to maintain their slim lead. The Lions' defense held strong in the final moments, securing their victory and leaving the Jets searching for answers.
