The Los Angeles Chargers held off the Houston Texans with a final score of 24-17 in a closely contested Week 9 matchup. With both teams vying for playoff positioning, the Chargers managed to secure a crucial victory that keeps them in the hunt for a postseason berth. Offensively, it was a strong showing from the Texans, led by quarterback C.J. Stroud, who threw for 137 yards. Running back David Montgomery put in a solid performance with 100 rushing yards, while tight end Dalton Schultz was a standout in the passing game, accumulating 103 receiving yards. Despite their efforts, the Texans fell short in the final moments of the game. On the defensive side, Derwin James Jr. was a game-changer for the Chargers, recording six total tackles and two critical interceptions that swung momentum in favor of Los Angeles. Will Anderson Jr. made an impact for the Texans with three sacks, but it was James' play that ultimately sealed the victory. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter, when James' second interception thwarted a potential game-tying drive from Houston, allowing the Chargers to run out the clock and secure the win.
