In a thrilling Week 6 matchup, the Washington Commanders squeaked past the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 31-28. Both teams entered the game looking to solidify their playoff aspirations, but it was Washington that emerged victorious in a closely contested affair. Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels led the offensive charge, throwing for 226 yards and showcasing his ability to move the chains. Meanwhile, the 49ers relied on their star running back Christian McCaffrey, who rushed for 81 yards, and wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, who racked up 93 receiving yards. Despite a solid effort from San Francisco's Brock Purdy, who managed to throw for a touchdown, it wasn't enough to keep pace with Washington’s scoring. On the defensive side, Fred Warner stood out for the 49ers, racking up nine total tackles, but it was the Commanders’ ability to pressure the quarterback and limit big plays that proved crucial. The turning point came in the fourth quarter when Washington's defense forced a key turnover, allowing them to regain momentum and ultimately seal the victory.
