In a commanding performance, the Detroit Lions defeated the Arizona Cardinals 31-6 in Week 5 of the 2026 season, solidifying their position as a contender with this decisive victory. The Lions showcased their offensive prowess, while the Cardinals struggled to find their rhythm throughout the game. Jared Goff led the charge for Detroit, throwing for 290 yards and three touchdowns, effectively controlling the pace of the game. Amon-Ra St. Brown was a standout receiver, racking up 131 yards and providing Goff with a reliable target downfield. Meanwhile, Jahmyr Gibbs contributed significantly on the ground with 79 rushing yards, helping to maintain the Lions' offensive momentum. Defensively, the Lions were relentless, with Derrick Moore leading the charge and recording 2.5 sacks, disrupting the Cardinals' backfield all game long. The turning point came in the second quarter when Goff connected with St. Brown for a 70-yard touchdown, putting the Lions up 14-0 and effectively demoralizing the Arizona offense. Despite Mack Wilson Sr's nine tackles for the Cardinals, the defense could not contain Detroit's explosive plays, sealing a dominant win for the Lions.
