In a thrilling season opener, the Cleveland Browns secured a 31-23 victory over the Seattle Seahawks, setting the tone for the 2027 season. Both teams entered this matchup looking to establish their dominance, but it was the Browns who emerged victorious, showcasing their offensive firepower. Leading the charge for Cleveland was quarterback Taylen Green, who threw for an impressive 323 yards and three touchdowns. He connected effectively with wide receiver Iverson Hooks, who racked up 121 receiving yards, providing the spark the Browns needed to keep the Seahawks at bay. On the other side, Seattle's Jadarian Price made a strong impression on the ground, rushing for 130 yards, but it wasn’t enough to propel his team to victory. Defensively, the Seahawks struggled to contain the Browns' explosive offense, despite individual efforts from players like Ernest Jones IV, who tallied four tackles. The turning point came late in the second half when Cleveland's scoring drive put them ahead, forcing Seattle to chase the game. The Browns' ability to capitalize on key moments ultimately sealed the deal, allowing them to hold off a late-game push from the Seahawks.
