The Indianapolis Colts dominated the San Francisco 49ers with a commanding 42-0 victory in Week 2 of the 2027 season. This win not only bolsters the Colts' early-season momentum but also raises questions about the 49ers' struggles on both sides of the ball. Trinidad Chambliss led the Colts' offensive charge, throwing for 101 yards and two touchdowns, while Jonathan Taylor showcased his explosive running ability with 111 rushing yards. The Colts' offense was relentless, with a balanced attack that kept the 49ers' defense on its heels throughout the game. Christian McCaffrey was the lone bright spot for San Francisco, managing just 46 receiving yards in a game where his team struggled to find any rhythm. The Colts' defense played a pivotal role in this shutout, highlighted by Cam Taylor-Britt's three total tackles, Laiatu Latu's two sacks, and Sauce Gardner's two interceptions. The turning point came early when Gardner's first interception set the tone for the game, allowing the Colts to capitalize and build an insurmountable lead. With a defensive performance this dominant, the Colts have firmly established themselves as a team to watch this season.
