In a decisive matchup, the Washington Commanders topped the Miami Dolphins 42-17 in Week 3 of the 2027 season. This victory not only boosts Washington's momentum but also solidifies their position in the early playoff race, leaving Miami searching for answers after a disappointing performance. On offense, Jayden Daniels shone for the Commanders, throwing for three touchdowns and leading his team with precision. The Dolphins’ Drew Mestemaker put up an impressive 310 passing yards, but it was De'Von Achane's 100 rushing yards and Caleb Douglas's standout performance with 154 receiving yards that kept Miami competitive, even as they struggled to find the end zone. Defensively, the Commanders made their presence felt, especially through Nick Cross, who snagged three interceptions, turning the tide in Washington's favor. Jer'Zhan Newton added to the pressure with two sacks, disrupting Miami's offensive rhythm. The turning point came late in the first half when Washington's defense intercepted Mestemaker, leading to a quick touchdown that shifted the game's momentum decisively.
