In a tightly contested Week 7 matchup, the Carolina Panthers defeated the Atlanta Falcons 19-14, further solidifying their position in the playoff race. Both teams entered the game with high stakes, looking to gain momentum as the season approaches its midpoint. Haynes King led the Panthers' offense with a crucial touchdown pass, while Michael Penix Jr. of the Falcons topped the passing yardage with 183 yards but couldn't find the end zone. Bijan Robinson showcased his running prowess with 92 rushing yards, and Kayshon Boutte contributed with 58 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Panthers. Defensively, the Panthers made their mark with a standout performance from Jaycee Horn, who intercepted two passes, providing key turnovers when it mattered most. Nic Scourton also had a significant impact, recording 1.5 sacks to apply pressure on Penix Jr. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Horn's second interception thwarted a potential game-winning drive for Atlanta, allowing Carolina to secure the hard-fought victory.
