In a tightly contested Week 11 matchup, the New England Patriots narrowly defeated the Washington Commanders by a score of 21-19, keeping their playoff hopes alive. With both teams vying for crucial positioning in the league, this game was a must-win for the Patriots, who managed to hold off a late charge from Washington. Drake Maye was the standout performer for New England, throwing for 268 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. His connection with receiver Kyle Williams proved to be a game-changer, as Williams racked up an impressive 158 receiving yards, consistently finding ways to exploit the Commanders' secondary. Meanwhile, Jacory Croskey-Merritt kept Washington competitive with a solid 73 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to secure the victory. Defensively, the Patriots made crucial plays when it mattered most, led by Robert Spillane's seven total tackles and Christian Gonzalez's key interception. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Gonzalez picked off a potential game-winning drive from Washington, allowing New England to maintain their slim lead. Despite Odafe Oweh's strong performance with 1.5 sacks for the Commanders, it was the Patriots' defense that ultimately sealed the win, demonstrating their resilience in high-pressure moments.
